Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the CHESS STALKER Website at https://www.chessstalker.com/, owned by David Menéndez Rujas, Spanish National ID 71771512N, Calle Concejo de Ibias 1, 2ºT, CP 33204, Gijón, Spain. Contact: info@chessstalker.com.

Chess Stalker allows users to analyse the playing style of chess players, providing statistics, game patterns, weakness detection and strategic recommendations. All analyses are purely statistical in nature.

By accepting these Terms and Conditions, Users agree to act in accordance with the provisions herein. Access or use of the Website by persons under 14 years of age is prohibited.

The Free plan is of indefinite duration. The Pro plan is monthly or annual and renews automatically unless cancelled before renewal.

Pro plan requires registration and account creation. Users are responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials and must report any misuse to info@chessstalker.com.

Users agree not to use automated systems, bots, scraping or any mechanism to extract data without express authorisation from CHESS STALKER.

The studies the User creates in the Studio (positions, lines, notes and titles, and the panels added to them) belong to the User. The User grants CHESS STALKER only the licence needed to store them, include them in backups and display them to the User. They are private and are not shared with other users. Technical limits: 100 studies per account and 256 KB per study.

When the Pro plan expires, the User loses access to the Studio and to their studies. Studies are kept for as long as the account exists and become available again when the plan is reactivated. The User may request their deletion at any time by deleting their account from "My account" or by writing to privacy@chessstalker.com.

The User agrees not to store in their studies unlawful content, third-party content without the right to do so, or personal data of third parties beyond public player names. CHESS STALKER may suspend access to content that breaches these conditions.

Subscription prices are published on the Website and may be modified. All prices include VAT or other applicable taxes.

Purchases are made through our reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as Merchant of Record: it is the seller to the User, issues the invoice and handles taxes, payments and refunds under its Buyer Terms and Refund Policy. CHESS STALKER provides the service. Debit/credit cards and any other method enabled by Paddle are accepted. The amount is charged in advance at the start of each period.

As a consumer, the User has 14 calendar days from purchase to withdraw without giving any reason, in line with Paddle's Buyer Terms. The first subscription is refunded in full if requested within that period from info@chessstalker.com or from Paddle (paddle.net). Renewals do not open a new withdrawal period.

Automatic renewal can be cancelled at any time from "My account" (Paddle payment portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid, during which the User keeps Pro access.

Analyses are purely informative. Nothing in these terms limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for personal injury, or the rights that consumer protection law grants to Users who are consumers. Outside those cases, and for Users acting as businesses or professionals, total liability is limited to the amount paid by the User in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

All Website elements are protected by intellectual and industrial property rights. Reproduction or use without CHESS STALKER's written authorisation is expressly prohibited, except for third-party content published under open licences (for example, Lichess broadcast games under CC BY-SA 4.0 or the piece sets listed in Credits), which is governed by its own licence. The moves of a chess game are data and are not claimed as our own.

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. For disputes with Users acting as businesses or professionals, the parties submit to the courts of Madrid, Spain. For consumers, the competent court is the one determined by consumer protection law, as a general rule the court of the consumer's domicile.
